FREE MALAYSIA TODAY. 13TH JUNE: The project will comprise 100 units of terrace houses built on land provided by the Negeri Sembilan government for free.

The government has allocated RM24 million to build a public housing project (PPR) in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, which will comprise 100 units of terrace houses.

Local government development minister Nga Kor Ming said the PPR will be built on a 3.5ha site in Kampung Datuk Johan, which falls under the Serting state constituency, owned by the state government.

According to Berita Harian, Nga said the Negeri Sembilan government agreed to give the ministry the land for free.

“Preliminary works will start soon, and construction is expected to commence early next year. We hope this PPR will fulfil the needs of residents who require affordable housing,” he said.

He said the affordable terrace houses met the requests of residents, who wanted to purchase landed property instead of high-rise units.

Nga also said his ministry has allocated RM7.04 million for the construction and maintenance of various public infrastructure in the district.

This includes upgrading the Bahau market and constructing Dataran Meranti, which will cost RM500,000 each.

He also announced an allocation of RM1.1 million to repair the Taman Bahau Indah flats, and RM2.98 million for the construction of a new fire station at Felda Palong Enam.
