No affordable houses in Teluk Ayer Tawar, laments PN candidate

FREE MALAYSIA TODAY. 31ST JULY: Bersatu’s Azmi Alang vows to advocate for affordable housing projects to be built in the constituency if elected.

PN’s candidate for Teluk Ayer Tawar, Azmi Alang, says there is no affordable housing available to constituents, despite many of them coming from the bottom 40 income group.

“There are only cheap flats that were built by the then Barisan Nasional state government. The Penang government should have built low-cost homes and affordable housing since we have fishermen here who can’t afford to buy (the normal) houses (around here).

“If elected, I will champion this issue in the Penang state assembly,” the Bersatu man told FMT when met at his operations centre here.
