MALAY MAIL. 25TH JANUARY: The ‘One Member One House’ (SASaR) programme for the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) will be on track to be available to buyers as long as there are no labour and supply issues.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the Sungai Besi project placed under the Defence White Paper — launched in 2018 — is currently at 21 percent completion with the target of buyers receiving their keys by the end of 2024.
“They still need 300 to 400 laborers, to have at least 1,000 workers for the target date to be adhered to.
“God Willing (it will finish) if there are no constraints on the labour and supply chain.
He said the housing will have 3,500 units and is a part of the defence white paper for the military to ensure adequate housing and welfare for their personnel.
Mohamad also added that the construction of the second SASaR housing for Wardieburn military camp personnel which was approved by the cabinet last year will start soon.
The SASaR ATM project is one of the Ministry of Defense (Mindef) core agendas to safeguard the welfare and quality of life of Defense Workers which includes military personnel, Mindef civilians and ATM veterans.
The agenda set in motion through the Housing Blueprint 3.0 is an effort that directly supports the MINDEF Strategic Plan 2021-2025, under Core 3 which is the Preservation of the Well-Being of ATM Citizens and Veterans.
